Send emails of local decision
makers such as councillors, director of public health, police, council
officers and the press to
anna.s@20splentyforus.org.uk We will mail merge them the national press
releases.

Write to your local press
letters page saying you want this policy. Ask others who support you to get
in touch. Compile an email supporter list and give them news about 20’s
Plenty for Us eg from our newsgroup – join free by emailing
groupregister@20splentyforus.org.uk

Start a petition for 20 mph in
residential streets for the ward or place where you live. Template
petitions are at
http://www.20splentyforus.org.uk/posters_and_documents.htm Add your
name and address at the bottom. Ask for signatures via putting out copies
where people are likely to be interested, eg cycle shops. Get others to help
you. Perhaps go round with a clipboard with it asking people on the streets
or have a table at events.

Ask to be on the agenda to
speak to local organisations such as at group meetings for your local
political parties, cycle group, FoE, Resident’s Associations, Ward Forums,
PTA’s, WI’s, Round Tables etc about the benefits of 20’s Plenty. We have
power points and posters to help you. Ask to put their logos on your Why
20’s Plenty for Your Town.

Speak to School Head Teachers
about how 20’s Plenty enables more children to keep safe and healthy by
walking and cycling to school and ask for their public support. Ask to put
a leaflet on Why’s 20’s Plenty for Your Town in school book bags.
